Successful athletes train hard, watch their diet and take care of their mental state. In short, they try to get the best out of themselves. We identify with that and our mission is to help everyone get the best out of themselves. 

So what could be more appropriate for our company than to sponsor a sports team? Right. Nothing. Since 2020, we have been a proud sponsor of the Cycloross team "Heizomat Radteam powered by Kloster Kitchen".

What is cyclocross?

If you are now asking yourself "What is cyclocross anyway?" you are not alone! Although the sport is very popular outside Germany (especially in Belgium and the Netherlands), it has not yet really taken root in Germany.

Cylcocross: The modern cross-country race

Cyclocross (abbreviated CX) is an off-road form of cycle racing. The teams and participants overcome obstacles on modified racing bikes. In most cases, these can be conquered on the bike, but sometimes the riders have to dismount and carry their bike a bit. The routes go over meadows, gravel, forest and sometimes even sand. Since most of the races take place in autumn or winter, the routes are usually a very muddy affair. If a part of the route is therefore not passable at all, then the bike is carried here as well.

Cyclocross has its roots in France, by the way. The first documented race took place there in 1903 and this type of cross-country race with competition character was already being run from 1909 onwards.

The Heizomat cycling team

The Heizomat Radteam powered by Kloster Kitchen is - like Kloster Kitchen - at home in Franconia. It is the only German cyclocross team, was only founded during the Corona time and the athletes participate in U23 races: A young team through and through! Meanwhile, 8 talented cyclists are part of the team, including the four-time German cross champion Tom Lindner.
