When to vacation in Canada? What is the best time to travel?
The climate in Canada is similar to ours. That is, summer is the warmest season, autumn and spring are milder, while winter is cold. However, Canada is very large. Depending on the region, the weather is then sometimes different than expected, for example, the west coast generally has a milder climate, while the east coast and the north are much colder.
In general, it can be said, who wants to visit national parks, camping and swimming, is well advised in the summer months, but also in spring and autumn. Those who prefer skiing or snowboarding should definitely plan their vacation in winter.

What is the most beautiful city in Canada?
Beauty is - of course - in the eye of the beholder. Nevertheless, we have decided: Vancouver is for us the most beautiful city in Canada. It wins because it is located directly on the sea, but at the same time you can enjoy the fascinating mountain scenery. In addition, the skyline magically attracts the view, especially by the sparkling glass skyscrapers of the city.
Other beautiful cities of the country that are also worth a visit are, of course:
- Toronto
- Montreal
- Quebec
Vancouver
Vancouver convinces not only by its scenery. Also the many possibilities to experience nature, culture or cuisine there are not without.
Outdoor activities in Vancouver
A visit to Stanley Park is a must on any trip to Vancouver. With about 400 hectares, the huge park in the middle of the city is one of the most popular attractions. A network of incredible 200 km of walking trails runs through there. But there are also other attractions such as the Vancouver Aquarium, Deadman's Island or Siwash Rock, a rock just off the northwest coast of the park.
For those who want to experience the city and the view from a different perspective, there are several viewpoints in and around the city, such as the Capilano Suspension Bridge, a free-swinging 13-meter-long and 70-meter-high cable bridge.
Vancouver's immediate surroundings also make the heart of outdoor enthusiasts beat faster. The nearby North Shore Mountains also offer countless hiking and biking trails and - weather permitting - slopes for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing.
Art & Culture
Vancouver's arts and culture scene has a lot to offer. The city is home to a number of museums and galleries, including the Museum of Anthropology and the Vancouver Art Gallery, one of the largest art museums in the country. Those who prefer to see live performances have plenty of choices here as well. The city is full of plays, concerts and shows. History buffs won't miss out either. The lively Gastown district is teeming with Victorian buildings full of gift stores, art galleries and stores. Another famous sight there is the Steam Clock, one of the few steam-powered clocks in the world!
Culinary Canada
One of the country's best-known specialties is, of course, poutine. This is served with gravy on french fries and a portion of cheese on top. Another best-seller is maple syrup, for which Canada is known worldwide. It's no coincidence that the country's flag is adorned with a maple leaf!
Vancouver also has other feasts in store for foodies. The city is known for its diverse culinary scene , from traditional Chinese dim sum to the popular farm-to-table concept. A wide selection of restaurants and cafes is also complemented by many breweries and wineries.
By the way, did you know that Canada has a strong coffee culture? As a British colony, the country started out with tea, but now Canada is one of the biggest coffee drinkers in the world!
Vancouver on foot
In fact, everything in downtown Vancouver is within walking distance. If at some point it becomes too much for you, you can use public transportation. The public transportation network in Vancouver is well developed and buses, trains or subways will take you anywhere quickly.
Bicycles are also popular for exploring the Canadian metropolis, as there are many bike paths with beautiful views.
And if nothing else works, there are of course Vancouver cabs or the widespread Uber.
